Mountain Training, Hill and Moorland Leader Assessment

Ready to take the next step in your outdoor leadership journey? Before booking your Hill & Moorland Leader Assessment, make sure you’ve met all the necessary requirements. You should have completed a Hill & Moorland Leader training course, or received an exemption, and be familiar with all elements of the Hill & Moorland Leader syllabus.

You will also need to have logged a minimum of 40 Quality Hillwalking Days across at least three different upland areas in the UK or Ireland. In addition, you must have completed an in-person first aid course lasting at least two full days (16 hours), which includes an assessed component.
