Ever wanted to sail solo? Our RYA Level 1: Start Sailing course is the perfect introduction to dinghy sailing, designed for complete beginners. Under the guidance of a qualified RYA Instructor, you’ll gain hands-on experience and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

During the course, you’ll learn how to rig and control your boat, experience helming your own dinghy for the first time, and develop a basic understanding of boat handling techniques and sailing theory. You’ll also receive expert supervision throughout, ensuring you gain the skills and confidence needed to enjoy sailing independently. Upon successful completion, you’ll earn your RYA Level 1 certificate.

The course runs over two days, typically Saturday and Sunday, from 08:30 to 16:30. A breakfast sandwich and cooked lunch are included each day, and accommodation can be requested if needed. The course is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over, or 14+ if participating with an adult.
