Safety Boat £220

This two-day course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing or training activities. It includes rescue techniques and elements of race management and mark laying. It is strongly recommended that a member of the rescue crew should hold a first aid certificate (or should have experience of first aid).  This course is perfect for anyone working or volunteering in watersports tuition or safetyboat cover at a sailing club.  It is also a pre requisit for the RYA Senior Instructor course.

This is a wet course on and in the water, please expect to get wet and dress appropriately.

Times: 8.30 - 16.30

Duration: 2 days

Pre requisite: RYA Powerboat Level 2, plus a good understanding of sailing and other watersports activities.

Age: Min age 16

Please do not book onto this course if you do not have a good understanding of sailing, watersports and parts of a sailing boat.
