Spring Open Day

Back by popular demand, we are thrilled to announce we will once again throw open our gates for you to join us in what has become The Anderton Centres bi-annual Open Day. It is an opportunity for you to experience some of the exciting land and water outdoor activities that we regularly host at the Anderton Centre.
The 2.5hr sessions of adventure and laughter with family, friends and colleagues are just £12 per person with all proceeds going towards our charity the Lancashire Outdoor Activity Initiative.
All you have to do is pre-book your chosen time slot and bring proof of purchase with you.
Some of the activities are extremely popular, so please be patient as you may have to queue for a short while for your chosen activities.
Some activities may have an age restriction.
Each pre-booked session will be limited to 200 activity places.
Morning Session (09:30 - 12:00)
Afternoon Session (13:30 - 16:00)
Evening Session (17:30 - 20:00)
(Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your pre-booked allotted session)

Hansa sail boats / Wheelyboat on request (accessibility option)
Stand Up Paddleboarding (single)*
Single sit-on Kayaks*

N.B. access to the site is via Old Road/Roscoe Lower Brow, not Horrobin Lane.
Anderton Centre Open Day - Terms and Conditions:
N.B. All participants going on-water will be issued with a Buoyancy Aid/Life Jacket which must be worn at all times whilst taking part in water activities. You may be offered the use of a helmet (compulsory for those under the age of 16) and covered shoes must be worn on all water activities.
We strongly recommend sturdy footwear and to dress appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions, as changing facilities are limited.
- Catering
Throughout your visit, our amazing catering team will be on hand with opportunities to purchase hot food, snacks, and refreshments.
- Transport
We have limited free car parking spaces and as such we request that you car share where possible.
All vehicles are to to be removed from site within 15 minutes following the end of your pre-booked session.
Disabled parking is extremely limited, available by request only
- Minimum Age Requirement
All participants engaging in water-based and land-based activities must be at least 6 years old. (Proof age maybe required) Minimum age 6, children under 12 must be accompanied on the water/activity by a parent / guardian
- Activity Availability
All activities are subject to availability. If a participant is unable to partake in a particular activity due to availability constraints, no refunds will be issued.
- Site Regulations
Smoking & vaping restricted to designated areas, and the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
The Anderton Centre will only issue a refund if we are responsible for the cancellation.
- Pet Policy
Well-behaved dogs, kept on leads, accompanied by respectful owners, are permitted on the premises. However, access may be restricted to certain designated areas.
- Right to Refuse Participation
The Anderton Centre reserves the right to refuse participation in any activity, at any time, and for any reason. This may include concerns related to safety, participant behaviour, or the suitability of personal protective equipment.
- Acknowledgment of Risks
Participants must acknowledge that outdoor adventurous activities inherently involve risks, including but not limited to the risk of death and disablement. While the Anderton Centre endeavours to manage these risks effectively, participants must understand that the possibility of accidents, such as falling into cold water or exposure to heights, and other hazards associated with the activities, cannot be eliminated. By attending the Anderton Centre Open Day, participants affirm that they are aware of the inherent risks associated with outdoor activities and voluntarily choose to participate. Participants also confirm that they are participating of their own free will. Photographs and videos may be taken by Anderton staff during your activity for marketing purposes. A selection of these will be uploaded to our social media accounts for you to review and may be used for other marketing purposes and publications. It is our policy to retain the anonymity of our clients, we therefore never identify any group or person by their name or location.
By attending the Anderton Centre Open Day, participants agree to adhere to these terms and conditions. Failure to comply with these terms may result in refusal of entry or participation without a refund. The Anderton Centre reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
