RYA Dinghy Instructor Course
Dinghy Instructor Course £360
Train to become a dinghy instructor with the RYA Dinghy Instructor course, a widely recognised qualification that allows successful candidates to teach the RYA National Sailing and Youth Sailing schemes at RYA-recognised training centres.
This five-day course will teach you how to deliver the RYA syllabus, develop your teaching skills, and guide you through the drills and techniques required to become an effective instructor. At the Anderton Centre, we pride ourselves on providing first-class RYA instructor training. Our in-house RYA Dinghy Trainers, combined with excellent equipment and facilities, ensure you get the best possible start on the instructor pathway.
Before booking, it is important to ensure you meet the course prerequisites. You must be at least 16 years old, a current RYA member, and hold a valid first aid certificate covering hypothermia and drowning (minimum eight hours). You also need to hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, the RYA Safe and Fun certificate, and have completed the pre-entry sailing assessment within one year of the instructor course. As a guide, the expected sailing standard for this assessment is at least equivalent to completing RYA Seamanship Skills and RYA Sailing with Spinnakers, as this training will be tested.
The current RYA Dinghy Instructor course scheduled at the Anderton Centre for 2024 runs from Wednesday 30th October to Sunday 3rd November.
